Getting Started​

Get started by creating an account and linking your GOVEE API key.

Setting up your Authenticator App​

We recommend that you install an Authenticator app onto your mobile device to help protect your account.

On iOS and Android, we recommend "Authy", "Microsoft Authenticator", and "Google Authenticator". You can download these apps from your devices App Store.

After installing a 2FA application, follow the steps below to link it to your TTL account:

  1. If you are creating your account for the first time, you'll be prompted during setup to pair with your device. Skip to step #3!

  2. If you already have a TTLxGOVEE account, login to your account, select your profile image in the upper-right hand corner, and select "Profile". Then, select "Manage 2FA" from the list of options. On desktop, this will be located in the left column.

  3. In your Authenticator App, select the "ADD" or "+" icon (Usually in the lower right-hand corner)

  4. Using your devices camera, scan the QR code displayed on-screen. If your device does not have a camera, or your Authenticator app does not support the camera function, enter the alternative key displayed on the page. Never share this alternative key with anyone!

  5. Once you scan or enter the key, you may be prompted to enter a name, be sure to name it something you will remember!

  6. After your TTLxGOVEE account has been added to your Authenticator App, enter the 6-digit one-time-pin from the App into your web-browser to finish setting up 2FA!

  7. After the verification is successful, 4 to 8 backup codes will be displayed on-screen. Copy these into a safe place (We recommend you write them down, then store the paper a fireproof safe). You'll need these if anything happens to your 2FA device.

Note! If you lose your 2FA device, you won't be able to recover your account! Make sure to copy the backup codes provided to you during setup. If you ever lose the backup codes, or need more, you can generated them in your 2FA settings (See Step 1 of this section)

  1. Open the GOVEE Home app on iOS or Android (Please note that using the GOVEE Studio or Lite app will not work)

  2. Select the profile icon (The bottom-leftmost icon on your screen)

  3. Click on the cog wheel (The upper-rightmost icon on the profile page)

  4. Scroll down, and select "Apply for API Key"

  5. Submit the forum to request your API key

  6. Check your email for a message from api-support@govee.com. It may take a few minutes to arrive

  7. Your API key will be attached in the message. Copy it into the signup form when prompted!

Controlling your devices​

Once you create your account and link your GOVEE devices via the API, you'll see an easy-to-navigate control panel where you can manage your devices! Here are just a few of the amazing things you can do on your homepage:

  • Turn on (or off) a device
  • Set the brightness of the device
  • Set the target temperature for the device (Ex: Heaters)
  • Set the ColorTemperature for the device (For devices with special LEDs for this)
  • Set the RGB color for the device
  • Apply any of your custom DIYs, or use a preset scene / music mode from GOVEE!
